Enhancing efficiency, transparency, and participation—together
CanAvian brings together bird data from varied sources under a shared banner, making it easy to access and use, and fostering collaboration and networking. We work to establish standardized data policies, build technical bridges, and ensure long-term sustainability of the Canadian data space.
How CanAvian WorksCanAvian Data Collaborators
Working to improve data sharing, and collaboration.
The organizations that make up CanAvian collect, manage, and provide access to data on birds in Canada. They believe that shared, open data fosters innovation and supports conservation and policy-making. This commitment aligns with Target 21 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, which aims to ensure that knowledge is available and accessible to guide biodiversity action.
